Flores McGarrell

Flo McGarrell was the Artist that died in the Haiti earthquake in 2010. An awesome artist who was daring, bold and smart. His show at the Vermont Art Center was a highlight where he explored agri-sculpture.

A quote from an interview on Art 21's Inside the Artist's Studio with Georgia Kostretsos:

The artist adds, “All of the pieces fall under the definition ‘Agrisculpture’ and are part of home-scale food production systems. All works are made with secondhand, found, intrinsically colored plastic, organic material and plants. All pieces are the result of experimentation undertaken in Roswell, New Mexico, Newbury, Vermont, and Jacmel, Haiti.”

He also did a 12 month residency at Roswell, NM.
